bio

I build windows, lighting and sculpture that break from traditional stained glass iconography and design, to reflect a contemporary aesthetic. I believe art glass transforms ordinary windows and lighting into unusual and special décor. Whether in a home or business, creating a unique space leaves a lasting impression, and it’s this ambiance that makes us want to return.

I have built windows and lighting for nightclubs, restaurants and residences, and in 2007 was featured on the DIY television network in Hollywood. I am currently working on a line of children’ s nursery windows and home décor for Feral Studio, a design studio I founded with Andrea Pinal in 2009 to showcase the work of daring and creative women.

I lived in NYC for several years. During this time I built sets and costumes in collaboration with Odonata Dance Troupe; combined film and glass sculpture with filmmaker Brandon Derman; and worked on rotating sculpture and water-jet cut steel and glass with engineer and artist Quill Hyde. In 2008 I also collaborated with Hyde on a carousel horse for the Acavallo Burning Man project.

I live and work in Berkeley, California.

Susanna in her Studio

This video was taken over the period of about 3 or 4 months. I participated in an artist residency with "One Arm Red" in Brooklyn NY. I received a studio for free during this time and created an installation involving several sculptures, a mural and live sod.

In the spring of 2005 I flew to Hollywood to shoot a 30 minute episode for the Do It Yourself (DIY) Network. The show was called Craft Lab and aired in 2007.
